New To The Gym?

Gyms can be intimidating places for a number of reasons, and we understand that for most people, it was a very big step to just walk through the front door. After all don’t just lean, confident young people attend gyms!

Not at Evolve, we go out of our way to make your experience a pleasant one and we cater, as you will see, for all ages, body shapes and capabilities.

What everyone does have in common is a desire to look after themselves and enjoy feeling better both physically and mentally as a result of regular exercise.

Q. What should I wear?
A. Comfortable clothing such as a T-shirt, track pants or shorts and training/sports shoes

Q. What else should I bring?
A. A towel and drink bottle. The towel is to put on top of the equipment when you are training and to wipe the perspiration off your face. We have both towels and drink bottles for sale if you do not have either of these.

Q. Should I eat or drink beforehand?
A. If it has been a while (4+ hours) since you last main meal and you have not had anything else, it would be wise to have a light snack e.g. a small piece of fruit and 6 almonds or a muesli bar would be ideal.

Q. When should I train?
A. Whenever you can fit it in to your day and will be least likely to be disturbed by other distractions.

Q. How often should I train?
A. This depends on your lifestyle and your goals, but when you are just starting out 2 – 3 times per week is fine and will start to produce benefits in your health and energy levels.
The more often you are able to train, the quicker things will start to happen.

Q. What will I feel after training?
A. New comers to exercise report higher levels of energy, more positive and less stress. At times you may feel hungry after training; this is when your body needs both some good quality Protein and Carbohydrates. Protein and Carbohydrates will help the muscles repair and replenish energy sources.
